Wordpress

You may be familiar with Wordpress.com. It’s a popular online platform, a competitor to Google’s Blogger, used to publish blog or even full websites. Wordpress is a terrific way to create an easy, professional-looking site to use as an instructional and communication tool in your classroom.

Since 2009, RCPS has had its own Wordpress server whose purpose is to host blogs and websites created by Rockingham County Public Schools teachers, staff, and students. No more need for Wordpress.com or Blogger.com any longer if you’re in RCPS!

As of January 2011, RCPS supports an additional blog server visible only within the RCPS network which is an appropriate choice for teachers who want to incorporate blogs as a part of their instructional process. Please email TECH HELP if you would like students blog accounts set up for your class.

Thanks to Joe Lipscomb, who set up the servers and keeps them both running for us!
