Latin

The Latin classes work on different projects every six weeks. Some of these projects include Roman dress , Roman food, name translation, Roman architecture, Greek and Roman mythology, Greek and Roman comedy, Roman dancing, and the Saturnalia festival. Other regular activities include learning of declensions and conjugations, translation, quizzes, tests, and reading the Pompeiiana newsletter and working on the questions and activities therein.

Our class magistrates (officers) change every month. There are three types of magistrates: consvles, praetores, and aediles. Two people are elected to each office.

• Consvles - presiding magistrates, denote months by term, post the current date
• Praetores - assist the consules, collect papers, distribute matrials
• Aediles - take care of the room, check class sign-out sheets, erase boards
