National Honor Society under Activities -

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY REQUIREMENTS

Selection for membership will be made during the second semester of the Junior year with a follow-up the first semester of the Senior year.

For selection consideration by the Faculty Council (a five member board appointed by the principal) a student will need to meet the following criteria:

1.Cumulative GPA (not including classes taken at the middle school for high school credit) of at least 3.5.

2. Be in good school standing

3. May not have any single disciplinary referral for any one of the following offenses: drugs, alcohol, tobacco, theft, weapons, threat to or assault on a staff member, fighting, cheating or any other major offense as determined by the administration.

4. Two or more disciplinary referrals for any other violation will require an appeal to the Faculty Council.

5. The school reserves the right to examine any discipline issue on the degree of severity.

Honor Society Pass - The "Honor Society Pass" is to be used by members of the National Honor Society when they wish to be excused from:

Access to the library will be restricted by the media specialist as needed. Society members must abide by procedures to be established by the library.

Honor Pass users must still sign-in and out from class.

Society members may use the pass to travel through the halls, but they may not socialize in the halls while classes are in session. Honor passes do not permit members to be late to class!
