Turner Ashby's Anthony Malabad is a national champion in Microsoft Word 2010! He first tested with Certiport in his computer class at Turner Ashby High School and earned the high score for the state which qualified him for national competition in Orlando, Florida. Out of the 300,000 students who competed nationwide, he placed first in the U.S. National Championship event. He wins a $3,000 scholarship as the grand prize.
Johnnie Anderson, his computer science teacher at Turner Ashby High School, encouraged him to compete. Anthony graduated from TA in June 2016 and will attend the University of Virginia this fall.
