Childhood bullying is a significant problem nationwide. It can cause school absenteeism, mental and physical stress, poor school performance, poor self-esteem, and, in some cases, school violence.
Rockingham County Public Schools values in the importance of character education and understands the role a positive learning environment has on learning. Our mission is to provide an education that guides students to reach their highest potential both academically and as responsible citizens.
During the month of October our schools will provide opportunities for our students to participate in bullying awareness, education and prevention activities. Our staff and students will unite against bullying by wearing orange on October 21, 2015. Join our efforts to end bullying. Remember, “The end to bullying starts with you!”
