Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year at Peak View Elementary School. We welcome our new students and staff and encourage all parents to be an active partner in their child’s school experience. We are proud of our students and staff and continue to be a school with high expectations which helps us achieve excellent results.

The school day begins at 8:20am and we need students to be present each day. Success in school is gained by hard work, commitment, cooperation and maintaining a safe and inviting school. We invite the community, the parents, along with the staff to help education our children.

Once again, I am very pleased to be starting a new school year as a fully accredited school based on the Virginia SOL standards. During the 2010-11 school year Peak View was celebrated by the Virginia Board of Education with the Governors School of Excellence Award. Again this spring our SOL results were very strong with nearly 100% pass rate in Math in grades 3-5.

Peak View is proud that we are a school that embraces technology. By using iPods, iPads, smartboards, computers, and document cameras, teachers power students to take learning beyond the classroom walls.
