Methodology

  • Discuss the computer safety rules that are posted in the lab and the division AUP-Acceptable Use Agreement and the JZK-Cellphone Policy
  • Teachers attend an inservice by ITRT on net safety for general content knowledge.
  • 6th and 9th Graders attend assembly by SRO and ITRT called "Choices-Making Good Decisions in Your New Building"
  • Classroom visitations with 4th, 5th, 7th, and 8th graders by ITRT specialists in digital ethics.
  • "Teachable moments" are activities that are internet safety concepts that tie into the regular SOL based curriculum.
  • Teachers can insert activities from the internet safety curriculum that blend well with the lesson of the day.
