Call the Continuing Education office at 434-5962 to sign up for CNA classes.
The Practical Nursing program is an 18 month program (August –June for two years). You must either be an upcoming high school senior, have a high school diploma, or a GED to apply.
3. What are the steps to making application to the Practical Nursing program?
1. Sign up to attend an Information Session at MTC. Complete and return the application form along with a non-refundable $30 fee to Massanutten Technical Center, attention Practical Nursing Admissions. Please be advised these sessions fill quickly and will be administered on a first come/first serve basis.
*Please note : this is a computerized test involving Math, Science, English and Reading. Persons wanting to apply are required to have basic knowledge of computers and a working email address in order to take the TEAS Entrance Test. Students are also encouraged to study and can do so by logging online to www.atitesting.com and purchasing a study manual or practice test for the 4.0/5.0 version of the TEAS test. (We do not offer study materials at MTC.)
2. Once you've signed up and paid for a testing session, an information packet will be given to you including an application and three reference forms. Pay very close attention to the directions on the application as there is an essay that will need to be completed.
3. Contact all educational institutions you have attended and request an official copy of your transcripts. If you recieved a GED, you must request a copy of your transcript including scores.
4. Bring your completed information packet (including completed essay, reference forms and transcripts) to Massanutten Technical Center when you come to attend the testing session you've signed up for.
Qualified applicants will be considered for admission by a committee of qualified MTC staff members and nursing instructors. Applicants will only be considered if all criteria have been met. Applicants are encouraged to attend an Information Session/ TEAS test session as soon as possible to obtain details. Space in the program is limited, so applying early is recommended.
