How many Career Programs are there at MTC?
Massanutten Technical Center has 20 different Career Programs for high school students.
Can I still go to college if I go to MTC?
Yes. 30% – 40% of our students go on to a 2- or 4-year college after completing their program at MTC. Many of our students will graduate with an advanced diploma.
Can I earn college credit at MTC?
Yes. twelve of our programs qualify for dual-enrollment at either Blue Ridge or Dabney Lancaster Community College! Students pay either a very small tuition fee or, for some classes, there is no additional cost!
Can I still be –on a sports team, in a student club, or participate in other student activities at my home school?
Yes. We have a large number of student athletes who attend MTC. At MTC, students can be members of FFA, FCCLA, HOSA, or SkillsUSA. It is not difficult to attend club meetings or other co-curricular activities while at MTC.
My home school has a play or pep rally, will I miss it if I go to MTC?
No. We make sure that students get back to their home schools for special programs and activities. In fact, sometimes the home schools will run the buses early so that the MTC students will be able to attend.
Do I have to ride the bus to attend Massanutten Technical Center?
No. Many of our students drive to our facility.
Can I come to Massanutten Technical Center for just one year or do I have to go for two years?
No. We have many students that just come to MTC for one year. However, students that come to us for more than one year earn more credits, and receive more skilled training.
