HERE WE GROW AGAIN!

Watch the construction of our new
Health and Public Safety Building!

In August 2009, Massanutten Technical Center (MTC) and Nielsen Builders broke ground on the first significant expansion project at MTC in 25 years.   The new Health and Public Safety Building will be constructed on the north end of MTC’s East Building.  The 17,510 square foot, two-story building will house four of MTC’s more popular Career Programs:  Criminal Justice, Fire and Rescue, Health Careers, and Nursing.   MTC has been fortunate enough to receive donated safety vehicles from various communities in Rockingham County and those vehicles will be housed in the lower level labs of the Health and Public Safety Building.   The new addition will provide state-of-the-art training facilities for MTC students.

This new Health and Public Safety Building will assist MTC staff to provide future employees in many of the area’s and country’s fastest-growing career fields.  The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects healthcare careers to be the fastest growing over the next decade.
The Health and Public Safety Building is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2010.
