Montevideo

Montevideo is using an Apple Mobile Lab for instruction thanks to a generous gift from a local philanthropist.

The Apple Mobile lab allows students to break free of wired labs and utilize technology throughout the building at Montevideo. Core content SOL classrooms have the ability to use the lab for a variety of teaching ideas. The Montevideo Mobile lab is not just any lab, but a Super lab. This lab has additional hardware for multi-media lessons and presentations. Students use still cameras, a digital video camera, a laser printer and an InFocus projector to bring learning alive! The teacher has a powerbook (that runs the projector) to do advanced teaching, create using the iLife Suite, then burn to DVD for use when the mobile lab is elsewhere.

The MMS Wireless iBook Mobile Lab includes:

> 1 Apple iBook Wireless Mobile Lab secure cart
> 25 student iBook laptop computers running the rock solid operating system OSX
> 1 Apple Powerbook computer DVD/enhahced graphics (for the teacher)
> 1 InFocus X2 Digital Video Projector
> 5 HP Photosmart M307 Digital Still Cameras
> 1 Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P93 Digital Still Camera
> 1 Sony Handycam DCR HC85 Digital Videl Camcorder
