Shenandoah District PTA Hosts Internet Safety Workshop Series
No Child Left Unprotected — Internet Safety 101: Empowering Parents
|
This four-session symposium will be held each Thursday in February, 7:00-8:15 pm at different schools across the Shenandoah District. The first session on February 5 will be held at Peak View Elementary School. The fourth session on Feb. 26 is slated to be held at John Wayland Elementary School. The symposium is funded through a grant by Enough Is Enough, a national organization founded in 1994 that leads efforts to confront online pornography, child pornography, child stalking and sexual predation with innovative initiatives and effective communications. It has offered this program across the state through a series of town hall meetings in collaboration with the Virginia PTA and with funding from Verizon. All schools that send a PTA representative to at least one session of the Shenandoah District Symposium will receive their own packet, including the DVD, to use at their school with parents, teachers and other staff. Cost of this packet is $65 for those who cannot attend but wish to purchase one from Enough Is Enough. Further details: Enough is Enough (PDF) or contact ShenandoahDD@VAPTA.org |
