MTC Students Earn Awards at State SkillsUSA Competition

Massanutten Technical Center Firefighters are THREE for THREE!

We have had a Fire and Rescue Program at MTC for the last three years. Our students have competed in the State SkillsUSA competition for all three years. Each of those three years, one of our Fire and Rescue students has placed FIRST in the state in the firefighting competition.

This year's 1st place winner in the Firefighting competion was David Huddle (HHS) and Travis Hillard (BHS) took 1st place in First Aid/CPR. Two of our other Fire and Rescue students also placed at the State Firefighting skills competition. Dustin Whetzel (BHS) took 3rd place and Corey Johnson (TAHS) placed 5th in the State. David Huddle and Travis Hilliard's first place finish make them eligible to go on to the National Skills Conference to be held this summer in Kansas City, Missouri.
