MES "Surfs into the SOLs!"

On Friday, May 1, McGaheysville Elementary School ushered in the SOL testing window by have a fun-filled Pep Rally called, “Surfing Into the SOLs!”  The Pep Rally, an on-going tradition of MES, shared test-taking strategies with MES students.  Through some wide-eyed “tourists” (many teachers), “Reporter Sallie Snoop” (a second grade teacher), real flow rider surfers from the Massanutten Water Park (James Tuoumey, Curtis Dean, Cody Monger, and Nick Mueller), and our beachy principals (Mrs. Becky Roadcap, Ms. Sharon Martz, and new Riverbend Elementary Principal, Mr. Joe Taylor), our students learned all they need to do to be prepared for taking PALS and SOLs.

The Pep Rally concluded with the song “We Will Rock You,” led by several MES students!  It was a fun-filled learning experience that Dr. Fenn and School Board member, Mr. Anthony Slater, got to participate in as they practiced “surfing moves” with the entire student body of MES!
