RCPS Welcomes Over 100 New Teachers for 2001-2002

 

 

New teachers gather at the orientation session held at Bridgewater Retirement Center on August 13.

 

RCPS welcomes over 100 new teachers for the 2001-2002 school year. Executive Director of Human Resource Stephanie Dearing directed the newly hired personnel through an orientation session held August 13 and 14 which included a welcome from Superintendent John Kidd and School Board President John Packard, a presentation about the history of Rockingham County Public Schools from Dale MacAllister and Larry Huffman, a presentation about the technology in RCPS by Joe Hill, and a presentation from School Board Attorney Doug Guynn. Ms Dearing and Human Resource Specialist Debi Rhodes provided the new employees with lots of information and welcome gifts. On August 14, the program included a presentation by Linville Edom Elementary School Principal Sandy Cupp, an explanation of the RCPS benefits packages, and presentations by the RPCS Instructional Staff moderated by Dr. Fred Kennon, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction.

Dr. Kidd and School Board President John Packard addressed the group.
Dale MacAllister and Larry Huffman gave them an overview of the history of Rockingham County Public Schools.
