Dr. Bob Grimesey Named Superintendent of Alleghany County School Division

Robert P. "Dr. Bob" Grimesey, Jr., Director of Grants and Partnerships, has been named Superintendent of what will become Alleghany County Public Schools near Covington, VA, effective July 1, 2001. Currently known as the Alleghany Highlands School District, it serves over 2,900 students who attend Alleghany High School, Clifton Middle School, Boiling Spring Elementary, Callaghan Elementary, Central Elementary, Clifton Forge Elementary, Falling Spring Elementary, and Sharon Elementary. Alleghany also shares the coordination of the Jackson River Technical Center and the Jackson River Regional Governor's School program.

Dr. Grimesey has formerly been served as principal of Spotswood High School and Ottobine Elementary School and assistant principal at John C. Myers Middle School. All of us in Rockingham County Public Schools thank Bob for his fourteen fruitful years of service with us and wish him well in his new position.
