RCPS Performs Well on 2002 SOL Tests
18 of 20 Schools Fully Accredited
The Department of Education has released the results of the 2001-2002 SOL Testing Program which show that Rockingham County Public Schools have done quite well again. The following schools received full accreditation:
Elementary Schools: Plains, Linville-Edom, Elkton, Mountain View, Peak View, McGaheysville, South River, Ottobine, Fulks Run, Pleasant Valley, John Wayland, and John C. Myers.
Middle Schools: J. Frank Hillyard, Montevideo, Wilbur S. Pence
High Schools: Broadway, Spotswood, Turner Ashby
The remaining two schools, Lacey Spring Elementary and Elkton Middle School, received "Provisionally Accredited/Meets State Standards" status. When compared to the state results, shown in the table below, RCPS has indeed performed very well again on the SOL tests.
