Best High Schools

Broadway High School, Spotswood High School, and Turner Ashby High School
were identified by US News & World Report among top schools in America.

The America's Best High Schools report singled out only 45 high schools in all of Virginia's 134 school divisions who met the criteria necessary to earn recognition.

Announced Dr. Carol Fenn, Rockingham Superintendent, "We are proud to celebrate this accomplishment. Out of 134 school divisions and 45 high schools in VA, you will find three of the winners right here in Rockingham County Schools. quoteThe 2009 U.S.News & World Report America's Best High Schools methodology, developed by School Evaluation Services, a K-12 education data research business run by Standard & Poor's, is based on the key principles that a great high school must serve all its students well, not just those who are bound for college and that it must be able to produce measurable academic outcomes to show that the school is successfully educating its student body across a range of performance indicators. quote
