Ottobine's Bonnie Berry was selected by the Local VFW Post 632 for the Citizenship Education Award in the elementary category. Mrs. Berry was also the winner of both the VFW District 11 and Virginia Citizen Education Award in the elementary category.

Mrs. Berry's submission from the Post 632 has been entered in the national competition. She has currently been awarded certificates, a plaque and monetary recognition. Mrs. Berry, a Kindergarten teacher, is currently in her 40th year of teaching at Ottobine Elementary.
