Eric Baylor Named Principal of East Rockingham High School

Eric BaylorRockingham's fourth high school now has its first principal. On June 9, 2009, the Rockingham County School Board announced Eric Baylor as its choice to be Principal of East Rockingham High School.

Mr. Baylor, currently Assistant Principal at Turner Ashby High School, is a career-long employee of Rockingham County Public Schools. He entered RCPS in 1991 as a teacher at Spotswood High School. During his tenure there, he served as Assistant Football Coach (1991-1994), Head Football Coach (1995-2002), and Assistant Track Coach (1991-2000), then moved into SHS administration as Athletic and Activities Director from 2005-2007. For the past two years, he's been an assistant principal at Turner Ashby High School.

"It's an exciting challenge," Mr. Baylor commented on his opportunity to open and lead a new high school. His preparation for the awesome task has already begun as he recently visited the construction site to survey the school's progress. ERHS is scheduled to open in the fall of 2010.
