Broadway High School Career Day
Submitted by BHS Sophomore Journalism student, Amber Harpine
On December 18, 2008, Broadway High School held a career day for sophomores. To help plan this important event, students took an interest survey on their desired careers earlier in the year. BHS Volunteer Coordinator and Science Teacher, Mr. Russ Kohrs, organized the day's activities.
During the event, students moved around to four different career classes to hear the speakers that had been selected. In each class, the career instructor provided information about his/her job, as well as other aspects of his/her career. Dr. Carol Fenn, RCPS Superintendent, was one of the speakers. Some of the other career fields included agriculture, business management, computer technology, and law enforcement. Overall, the students learned a lot and appreciated the opportunity to hear about possible career choices for their futures!
