RCPS Students Participate in Youth Art Show

More than 400 people attended the show entitled “A Celebration of Youth Art” on Friday, March 6, at Harrisonburg First Church of the Nazarene on Port Republic Road.

Student artists from Harrisonburg City School and Rockingham County Public Schools exhibited pieces in paint, clay, wood, colored pencils, markers and other various media. Rockingham County’s part of the event was coordinated by Michele Rosengarth, art teacher with Rockingham County Public Schools.

The event sponsors were Classic Tuxedo, Eagle Carpet, Packaging Corporation of America, and Harrisonburg First Church of the Nazarene.

As they entered the show, attendees were presented with a bag of Skittles with the following note: “Thanks for supporting students as they add color to the world.”
