Medications at School

A parent authorization for administration of medication form is required to be completed before medication can be dispensed to your child. School personnel may administer prescription drugs only if the student has the written permission of the parents and the physician (permission implicit in the original pharmaceutical package), stating the type, dosage, and duration of treatment. Non-prescription medication can be given without permission from the physician.

The RCPS policy specifies the guidelines for the administration of medications at school.

The Parent Authorization for the Administration of Medication is available :

  • MS Word version
  • PDF version
