English Department

All Language Arts and Reading teachers at WSPMS encourage students to read daily at home as an integral part of their students' education, to improve reading comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, and eventually their reading level.

Curriculum in English courses focuses on reading comprehension, writing, word study, vocabulary, communication with concentrated efforts placed on preparing students for the Virginia SOLs.
