The Challenge Program

The purpose of the Challenge program at WSPMS is to provide a variety of enrichment activities for students. The program incorporates the following: pull-out gifted instruction, electives, curriculum resource instruction, extra-curricular activities, clubs, and competitions at state, national, and world levels.

Courses available include Advanced Reading, Astronomy, Career Clusters, and Economics. The Destination ImagiNation ("DI") team allows students to take what they know and what they are good at and learn to apply it to solve challenges, working together and cooperatively as a team and pushing the limits of imagination. Students use problem-solving skills with different strategies during friendly competitions in the Chess Club. The Stock Market Game provides virtual practice of economic concepts.
