We hope the new school year has started off well for everyone.
Here is a reminder of several items:

If you have not paid dues, please send in $5 (for each member) with your name, address, phone and email address in an envelope marked SHS PTSA. We know many of you were on vacation during registration and may have missed our sign up. Please support the PTSA by paying dues!! We are about 30-40 members short of last year. If you would also include your Martins grocery number, we can sign you up for that program (see below)

Martins A+ Program---designate SHS either in the store, on the computer
(martinsaplus.com) or email your number to one of us and well do it for you! Between October and March, Martins will donate 1% of sales to our school. This goes into the general school fund for school projects. This is not limited to SHS parents.friends, neighbors, and family members can participate too!

Sign up for email alerts to school event changes (this includes all sports and school events) by going to the SHS athletic web page (spotswoodblazers.org ) and signing up for email alerts (button in upper right corner).

Our meetings are the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 5:30pm in the
library. This immediately precedes Dr. Muraskins PAC meeting (parent
advisory meeting). This month, the meeting is on September 16.

Thank you again to all those who were able to contribute to the teacher
breakfast. It was greatly appreciated. We will be serving dinner November 3 on the parent/teacher conference day. We also plan to do a cookie day in mid February for the staff, as well as a snack/sweet day during exams in June. Our biggest project will once again be Blazer Bash, the after prom party held at JMUs Recreation facility (UREC). We will need volunteers for that night and help planning and organizing the event. The kids really enjoy this, so please consider helping make it happen.

Reflections.
Once again, Zizi Sipe has agreed to head up this program. The theme is Beauty is.. and the deadline will be in early October. As many of you know, the categories are Literature, Photography, Visual Arts, Dance Choreography, Musical Composition, and Film Production. More information will be made available soon.

We welcome suggestions and volunteers! Please feel free to let us know what ideas you have and if you can help!
