The Oak Hill School was a one-room frame school located south of Turleytown on the road from Singers Glen to Cootes Store. The land for the school was deeded to the Linville District school trustees by John J. Myers and wife by deed of November15, 1882 and the school opened for the 1882-83 school session.The school is indicated but not named in Lake's 1885 Atlas of Rockingham County. The Oak Hill school closed after the 1918-19 school session. Teachers known to have taught at Oak Hill are:
