New Trinity School

The New Trinity school was located on the north side of the road from Dry River to Swope's Mill about two miles northwest of Rushville in Ashby District. The school is shown as School #30 in Lake's 1885 Atlas of Rockingham County. The building was a one-room frame building built in 1876. The names of teachers at New Trinity are unknown. In 1905, the New Trinity school was closed and the building was moved to Rushville to provide an additional room at the Rushville School. The land where the New Trinity School was located was sold to G. D. Rhodes on May 4, 1912 for $45.
