The Well Hollow School was located southeast of Singers Glen on the Bowman Mill and North Mountain Road (presently Well Hollow Road). The property for the Well Hollow School was deeded to the Linville District School Board by Jacob Miller and wife on August 20, 1887 and the school was opened that fall. The only known teacher at Well Hollow was Lewis Swank, who taught at Well Hollow during the 1889-90 school session. The Well Hollow School was one of several small schools closed in 1903 when the consolidated 4-room Singers Glen school was opened.
