The Rushville school was a two-room school located at Rushville in Ashby District about midway between Dayton and Hinton. Land for the school was deeded to the Ashby District school trustees by B. F. Hughes and wife on November 3, 1876. The school began operation during the 1876-77 school year. In 1905, the nearby New Trinity school was closed and the building was moved and added to the Rushville school. The earliest teachers at Rushville are unknown. The Rushville school continued in operation until it was closed in 1950. Teachers known to have taught at Rushville are:
