
The Mt. Zion School was located on the opposite side of the road from
the Mount Zion Church on what is now Route 646 north of
McGaheysville. The land for the Mt. Zion School was deeded to the
Stonewall District School Board on October 18, 1882 by H. F. Propst
and others. The Mt. Zion School was a one-room frame building which
served the community until it was closed in 1936.
