Montevideo Middle School

Montevideo Middle School was constructed in 1965 as an addition to Montevideo High School. The addition was built by Fralin Construction Company at a cost $300, 050 which included twelve classrooms and a gymnasium. Until 1973, the Intermediate (now Middle) school was operated as a unit of the high school. In 1973, the school board decided to separate the high school and intermediate school into separate units sharing common facilities and C. Victor Diehl was hired as the first intermediate school principal. With the completion of Spotswood High School in 1980 and the closing of Montevideo High School both units of the building became Montevideo Middle School.

Principals who have served at Montevideo Intermediate (Middle) School are:

1973-1978 C. Victor Diehl

1978-1991 Charles W. Rodeffer

1991- Robert Scott
