Lennox (Price's Hill) School

The Lennox (Price's Hill) School was located about three and a half miles northeast of Harrisonburg in Linville District. The school was located on a hill on the west side of Valley Pike. The land was deeded to the Linville District school trustees by James R. Price. The school is indicated but not named in Lake's 1885 Atlas of Rockingham County. Lennox was a one-room frame school built in 1884. The only known teacher at Lennox was Miss Bruce Bowman, who taught at Lennox in 1884-85. The closing date of the school is also unknown. The school was believed to have closed about 1905 and the students transported to Melrose.
