The Hupp School was located near Criders Store in northwestern
Rockingham County. The land for the school was deeded to the Plains
District School Board on October 12, 1904 by C. B. Hupp and wife. The
Hupp School was designated as school #16 in the minutes of the Plains
District School Board. Presumably the school opened for at least part
of the 1904-05 school session although the earliest teachers at the
Hupp School are unknown.
Teachers known to have taught at the Hupp School:
1908-10 (two sessions) Grover C. Moyers
1910-11 Benjamin Lantz
1911-12 C. L. Moyer
1912-13 Benjamin Lantz
1913-14 Wilmer P. Dove
1914-17 (three sessions) Benjamin Lantz
1917-18 S. Arthur Moyers
1918-27 (nine sessions) Benjamin Lantz
The Hupp School was closed in 1927
