Harmony School

Harmony School was an old school in Ashby District that predated the public school system. The original building was a log building and was used until 1876 when it was replaced by a one-room frame building. The Harmony School was located mid-way between Bridgewater and the Valley Pike on what is now Route 704. The school is indicated as Harmony School #18 in Lake's 1885 Atlas of Rockingham County. Teachers at the Harmony school are unknown and it's closing date is also unknown. Records indicate that the school probably closed around 1900.
