Kindergarten Computer Technology Benchmarks

 

A Guide for Parent Involvement

 

Objective: Kindergarten students will become familiar with computer hardware and educational software.

 

 

1st Nine Weeks

K.5 The student will demonstrate use of the mouse. (C/T5.1)

K.4 The student will name and show parts of the computer including the monitor, screen, keyboard, printer, mouse, disks, disk drive, CDs, and CD ROM drive. (C/T5.1)

 

2nd Nine Weeks

K.6 The student will be able to work independently with educational software. (C/T5.1)

K.2 The student will develop a basic technology vocabulary the includes CD, CD-ROM drive, click, drag, disk, disk drive, keyboard, return/enter key, delete key, space bar, computer, monitor, screen, mouse, mouse pad, printer, buttons, programs and cursor. (C/T5.1)

 

3rd Nine Weeks

K.3 The student will locate the following keys: letters in his/her name, numbers, space bar, return/enter, delete, and cursor keys (arrows). (C/T5.1)

 

 

 

4th Nine Weeks

K.1 The student will become familiar with computer related technologies in the classroom. (C/T5.1)
