The Rockingham County School Board adopted revisions to the following policies at the July 9, 2012 meeting:
• JZK - USE OF STUDENT-OWNED ELECTRONIC DEVICES
• IIBEA - ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY FOR ELECTRONIC INFORMATION, SERVICES, AND NETWORKS
These revised policies represent a change in expectations of our high and middle school students with regard to student-owned electronic devices. Building administrators will be reviewing these policy revisions with staff, parents, and students during back-to-school events and orientations. These policy revisions were approved pending a mid-year review. The revision committee will review these policies report back to the Board in December 2012. The Board may request a review or change in these policies at any time before then.
In addition, Dr. Carol S. Fenn, Division Superintendent, revised the following administrative directive:
