Speech Applications - Introduction to Drama (Elective)
Grade Level: 9-12 1 Credit
Prerequisite: None
The course will focus on basic acting skills (actor motivation, characterization, pantomime, concentration), public speaking, introductory technical theater, and dramatic performance. Students will be required to view live theater performances each nine weeks. There is a fee for this class.

Technical Theatre (Elective)
Grade Level: 9-12 1 Credit
Prerequisite: None

Students will learn the basics of theater production for live stage and musical performances including stage craft,
lighting design, costume and make-up design, and theater management. There is a fee for this class.

Theatre I (Elective)
Grade Level: 10-12 1/2-1 Credit
Prerequisite: Speech Applications or approval of instructor

An intensive acting/production class for students who wish to fine-tune their acting skills and their stage craft skills. Students will learn advanced acting skills and will prepare several monologues for performance and auditions. Students will be required to complete an acting portfolio and/or a technical portfolio. Students may also produce a one-act play for public performance. Students will be required to view live theater performances once each nine weeks. There is a class fee.

Theatre II (Elective)
Grade Level: 10-12 1/2-1 Credit
Prerequisite: Speech Applications or approval of instructor

Students will produce a workshop of theater games for children and present the workshop at area elementary schools. Students will learn advanced acting skills, improvisation techniques, and audience participatory theater. Students will produce and perform a whole-school children's play. Students will be required to view live theater performances once each nine weeks. There is a fee for this class.
