SUPPORT STAFF EMPLOYMENT STATUS

 

            Support staff personnel shall be employed on a non-contract basis unless otherwise required by state law.

           

            Temporary employees shall be hired for short-term needs on a daily/hourly basis.  These employees shall accrue no benefits and be paid only for hours worked.

 

            Regular employees shall be eligible for all employment benefits available under School Board policy. Such employees shall maintain regular employment status in a new position following a transfer to a new department or a promotion to a higher position.

 

Bus drivers who regularly drive, at a minimum, morning and afternoon routes, are considered full-time employees.

 

Clerical employees who regularly work eight (8) hours per day are considered full-time employees.

 

Teacher assistants who regularly work seven (7) hours per day are considered full-time employees.

 

Food service workers who regularly work six (6) hours per day are considered full-time employees.

 

All other regularly scheduled classified employees are considered part-time employees.
