Peak View Elementary School offers Special Education services for students K-5 that have been identified as having a disability. Currently, we have eleven students in the Special Education program who have been identified with a learning disability. The amount of services and time allotments vary depending on student needs and is provided as determined by the IEP team.

Because Special Education services attempt to prepare students with disabilities to live and work in society, each student is educated with his/her peers to the maximum extent appropriate. Effort is made to place the student in the least restrictive environment. In determining the most appropriate setting, each student is considered on an individual basis. RCPS offers a continuum of alternative placement options and services to meet the varying needs of disabled students.
