Peak View Takes Student Safety Seriously

Your child's safety is our number one concern at Peak View. Therefore we ask that parents help us with this by following a few simple procedures.

  • DO NOT have your child at school before 8:00am. We do not have supervision in the school before 8:00am. Thus if an adult is not at the drop off area, DO NOT drop your child off to come in the school.

  • Follow the drop off procedure in the morning. It is very dangerous to the students if parents drop off their child in the parking lots and expect them to walk through the traffic that is unloading students. Unless you are parking your car and walking your child into the building, please drop off at curb side near the flag pole.

  • Visitors, please always sign in and out of the school building.

  • Parents please provide a note to the school in the morning if your child is riding home on a different bus or getting picked up from school. We cannot receive phone calls or messages after 2:00pm to change afternoon routes for students. Often messages late in the day do not get to the teachers or students and students are put on the wrong bus to go home. So please contact the school before 2:00pm if you have to change your child's ride in the afternoon.

  • We will not be releasing students between 2:00-3:00p.m. unless you have an appointment. All children that are not riding the bus will need to be picked up in the cafeteria at 3:00p.m.

  • Soon our 4th and 5th grade students will help with school safety by assuming some roles as Safety Patrol in our building. These students will have various jobs around the school in the mornings between 8:00am-8:25am. Look for the students with the florescent green safety straps if you have any questions or need assistance carrying items into the school.
