CONFLICT MANAGERS

Conflict mediation is a vital process that students and adults should learn and use in daily interactions in the world we live in.  Students at Plains are trained to resolve conflict peacefully and successfully for all parties involved.  Conflict mediation skills are taught as students develop at each grade level by the guidance counselor and other Plains staff.  Selected students in fourth and fifth grade are trained as Conflict Mediators within the school.  These mediators are under the supervision of the counselor and work with students who refer themselves or who are referred by staff as conflict situations arise.  The goal is for all parties to solve the conflict and reach a mutually agreed upon solution.  Conflict mediation skills are critical for each of us in today’s world.
