Students are taught academic and behavioral expectations at the beginning of each school year.
The PAWS Plan incorporates the use of Tiger PAWS and Tiger TAILS. Faculty and staff members give tokens in the form of Tiger PAWS when students demonstrate the expectations. These tokens are never taken away from the students. Tiger PAWS are collected/displayed in the classroom to ultimately earn an end of the six or nine weeks "Big Event" in each grade level. The PAWS planning team will work with teachers to provide a list of ideas for their grade level "Big Event." The Plains PTA will provide funding for "Big Events" and POWER PAWS celebrations during the year.
Students receive Tiger TAILS for inappropriate behavior choices and for not demonstrating the expectations in the PAWS Plan. A copy of the PAWS plan will be sent home to parents to review. Teachers keep a tally of Tiger TAILS issued to students during each six or nine weeks.
