Opened in the Fall of 1990 to house Massanutten Technical Center's adult education programs, Dayton Learning Center exists to meet the education and training needs of area adults. The mission of the Center and the programs it offers is to assist these adults in becoming more-productive, better-informed individuals who can contribute to our community and to society as a whole. A wide array of learning activities and services, from basic literacy tutoring to professional/management development programs, and from cultural and civic activities to intergenerational learning, are provided by and/or through Dayton Learning Center. The education and training of adults served via these programs and activities is truly an investment in the economic and social health and future of both our community and the Commonwealth. Specific benefits include employability enhancement, occupational advancement, productivity improvement, dropout prevention/retrieval, public/private partnerships, inter-agency collaboration, cultural awareness/integration, improved parenting and life-management skills, and increased probability of individual and family self-sufficiency.
