McGaheysville Elementary School would like to thank our community and business partners. With the generous support of these organizations and people, M.E.S. has received technology equipment, instructional materials, books, playground equipment, plus much more. We appreciate your contributions.
The McGaheysville Ruritans
In addition to annually providing dictionaries for each third grader, they also made a financial
contribution which will be used to purchase Test Ready Prep Materials for several grade levels.
Great Eastern Resort
Thank you for the contribution which will be used to assist in funding for Virginia Experience
books for our fourth and fifth graders.
Miller-Coors
Thank you for contributing funds directly to our school library.
Merck
Merck has a matching funds program, whereby if an employee makes a donation, Merck will match the
contribution. In lieu of participating in the PTO fundraiser, a parent made a sizeable donation,
which was matched by Merck. These funds will be used to purchase technology for classrooms.
Golden Corral
Thank for allowing us to host M.E.S. Nights throughout the year. This allows our school to receive
a nice contribution from part of the night's proceeds. Golden Corral also work with M.E.S. in
providing meals for teacher appreciation. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Lawhon, for your tremendous support!
Barnes and Noble
By allowing us to host an M.E.S. night at Barnes and Noble in Harrisonburg, Virginia, M.E.S. received
a percentage of the net sales for a certain dates.
Walmart
We would like to thank Walmart for donating a large screen T.V. for our PTO to raffle off to raise
money for technology equipment to be used in our classrooms. Thank you, Mark Ferrer, for working with
us!
Valley Exxon
Thanks to the efforts of Valleys 29 Exxon in McGaheysville, our school has been awarded a $500
ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Grant. The money will be used to provide classrooms with math
manipulatives and challenge materials. Funded by the Exxon Mobil Corporation, the ExxonMobil
Educational Alliance Program is designed to provide Exxon dealers like Mike Davis with an opportunity
to invest in the future of their community thought educational grants to neighborhood schools.
Thank you, Mike Davis and Valleys 29!
Shenandoah National Park
M.E.S. has had a long standing partnership that has lasted over ten years. Our classrooms have
benefited from visiting the park on field trips while the park rangers provide a rich instructional
lesson. The SNP has worked with Merck and M.E.S. in sponsoring a "Park Day" which is held in May.
Thank you for your years of dedication, SNP!
