The Wildwood Park
Project
--------------------------------------
John Wayland Elementary
School's theme for 1998-2000 school years was
"Growing Together". One
way the children grow together with the community is
through the Wildwood Park
project. Wildwood Park on the North River in
Bridgewater, VA was
devestated by floods caused by hurricanes in September
of 1996 and January of
1997. John Wayland students took a
special interest in
helping to repair the damage while learning more about
the park's ecology. Work
days were spent at the park planting native plants and trees.
