Dear Parents/Guardians,
I am very glad to have the opportunity to work with your child this year. It is my intention to maintain open communication with you about progress, successes, and concerns so that we can work together to ensure your child’s success. Please read this letter and complete the information at the bottom, and have your child return this to me as soon as possible.
As we start the year, here are a few things that you can do to help your child experience success:
--frequently ask your child what they are learning about in class
--ask to see their notebook and make sure they are staying organized
--frequently check your child’s planner to see if they are keeping up with their assignments (there should be something written down for every class, everyday); teachers will often write notes to you in these planners
--expect students to have a short homework assignment everyday; please make sure they are responsible and don’t fall behind on these assignments
--for those of you with internet access, you can find information about what we are learning, assignments, and upcoming tests and due dates at the following website: http://jfhmsfc.rockingham.k12.va.us/~chutchinson/

Telephone will be the primary form of communication, but E-mail can also provide for a very quick and easy way to communicate if you have an E-mail address. If you would rather not take calls at work, just don’t give me the number.
