With the entire MES student body and staff, central office administrators, school board members, and local media gathered, McGaheysville Elementary School Pre-K teacher, Therese Warner, was named Virginia's Region V Teacher of the Year. Rockingham Superintendent Dr. Carol Fenn and Mr. Kent Dickey, Assistant Superintendent for Finance for the Virginia Department of Education, made the presentation to Mrs. Warner. "Therese is a preschool teacher at McGaheysville Elementary and is an outstanding example and representation of excellence of all Rockingham teachers! She will be a candidate for VA's Teacher of the Year selection process. We wish her well, and thank her for her special attention to the students she teaches and serves. The announcement was one of eight occurring this morning in regions across VA. Rockingham County is honored to be one of the divisions; together, we celebrate Therese!" praised Dr. Fenn in her announcement. Mrs. Warner had been previously named Rockingham's Teacher of the Year. RCPS congratulates Mrs. Warner on these outstanding honors! |
