MTC Students Excel in Skills USA District VI Skills Competitions

At Masanutten Technical Center, we produce winners! Recently, the SkillsUSA District VI skills competitions were held at Massanutten Technical Center, Valley Vo-Tech in Fishersville, and at the Charlottesville/Albemarle Technical Education Center (CATEC) in Charlottesville, VA. A total of 103 Massanutten Technical Center students took part in the 24 contests. Five contests were held at CATEC including Auto Technology, Collision Repair, Automotive Refinishing, Masonry, and Cosmetology. Contests in the following skill areas were held at Valley Vo-Tech: Computer Repair and Networking, Heating and Airconditioning, Diesel Technology, and Residential Wiring, and Crime Scene Investigation.

Massanutten Technical Center had a total of 62 Medal Winners including 19 first place individual student winners and two first place winning teams. Of the five contests held at CATEC, MTC had four - first place winners! First place winners and some second and third place winners are eligible to continue on the state competitions. MTC has a total of 40 students eligible for the State competition to be held in April in Hampton, VA. (* = eligible for states.)
