Annie Nealon Wins 2010 Spelling Bee
Rockingham County Public School Division Congratulates Its Students Competing at Regional Spelling Bee on March 6
Nine students will represent Rockingham County Public Schools as they compete in the Regional Spelling Bee on Saturday, March 6 at WVPT-TV studios. The Regional Bee will be broadcast live by WVPT at 11 a.m. (March 20 is the planned snow date.) Students from Rockingham County, Harrisonburg City, Page County, Highland County, Eastern Mennonite Elementary, Blue Ridge Christian, Cornerstone and Classical Redeemer schools will compete at the Regional Bee.

In addition to the nine who move on to further compete, 18 other students competed at the county-wide spelling bee held by Rockingham County Public Schools on Feb. 17 at Cub Run Elementary School.

Andrew Logsdon, an 8th grader at Wilbur S. Pence Middle School, competed and won the Regional Spelling Bee in 2009. He represented this region at the 2009 Scripps National Bee in Washington, D.C. in May. He is now at student at Turner Ashby High School.
